McDonald's has been updating some of their locations and varying the decor to appeal to the local clientele. Most recently, one Los Angeles location was remodeled incorporating Feng Shui principles.

Clarification:
The recent Associated Press Article about the renovations mentioned that 44, or 4, is an inauspicious number. In traditional Flying Star Feng Shui the #4 Star is an auspicious star however, in the Chinese Language the word for the number "4" is very similar to the word for "death" thus the belief by some that 4 is unfavorable. Additionaly, in Western Numerology, 4 is the number of balance, also considered to be favorable.
